So, good spot, selection is not huge, and pricing is quite high for some of the selections. That being said, a few gems there that are early pressings or rare ones that could justify them. Still, unless it's something rare, hard to recommend a spot that sells records and has no ac.

This is my favourite record store in Toronto, they have rare records that you won’t see in any other shop in the city (especially hip hop) the owner is a really nice guy, he hooked me up with a deal on a few records that have been on my want-list for a while. If you’re ever in the area check it out, don’t listen to the negative reviews the owner is super friendly and will definitely cut you some deals!

Love this shop. They always have hard to find records that are on my want list and the walls are covered with amazing music memorabilia. It's like a mini music museum.

This is a GREAT shop. Truly the definition of quality over quantity. Fair prices, friendly owner, and you will often stumble across a hidden gem or two you didn't expect to pick up. They also have a $1/$2/$3 record blowout sale every year which is a great opportunity to score some classics at bottom of the barrel prices.

This place is a used vinyl collector’s dream, especially if you’re looking for rare or limited pressings of classics. The shopkeeper is so sweet and there are some really impressive finds here! Definitely recommend, especially if you have the time to spend looking through the crates.

I brought in part of my dad's beloved record collection for an appraisal and had a great experience from beginning to end with the owner. We loved the store, it feels like a special place as soon as you walk in. The vibe is so much better than other vinyl shops in the city. The owner was friendly and kind, helping us unload our collection and we immediately knew we brought them to the right place. She gave us a very fair price and peace of mind knowing these records will be loved and played as they once were. Don't hesitate to bring your records here, you won't regret it. And enjoy this place, it's a gem.

There are some nice, cozy, fun used record stores in the city but Beach Sound is the most nostalgic and enjoyable to visit. Great ownership, great selections with everything well catalogued and displayed. I have found some 7" and 12" singles I doubt I could find elsewhere for great prices. I can't say enough good about Beach Sound.

recently started my vinyl and CD collection up again and visited this store for the first time. great to have this place in the neighbourhood. the owners were super kind and i enjoyed chatting with them for some time. i look forward to my next visit.

Like others have said, the owner is a nice guy but no amount of personality can make up for overcharging and permanently damaging the sleeves by scribbling the prices on them with black sharpie. You will often find lower prices on eBay. Come in here to browse and get inspired, then go somewhere else to actually pull the trigger.

Joe and Teresa were absolutely incredible as owners and people to me! I gave them a call looking for particular CDs, little did I know they’ve been closed due to health issues. They mentioned they had what I was looking for and told me to come by after work, opening the shop for me. I walked out with the CDs as promised, an original pressing of Fleetwood Mac Rumors (that I’ve been trying to find for years) and a huge smile after a lively conversation. Felt like I was with family!! Really appreciate Joe and Teresa taking the time to open up the store - and the discount. If there is anything particular you want sourced you can give them a call and see if they are able to fulfill. Wishing them both all the best on their health issues ☺️

First time visiting Cosmos Records, and it instantly felt like stepping into a time capsule of jazz, soul, funk, and disco. The walls practically hum with history. Every bin is loaded with vintage gems and first pressings. Yeah, the prices are on the higher side, but that’s the tax you pay for quality and authenticity. These are serious collector pieces, not reissues you’ll find at the mall. Still, it gave me a moment’s pause.. but I get it. The gentleman working was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. No snob vibes, just pure love for music. The space itself has that quiet, lived-in record store energy: warm lighting, packed but well organized, and the faint cigarette smell of used vinyl that only real collectors know. I’ll absolutely be back when I’m hunting for that elusive soul, funk, or jazz pressing that’s worth paying a premium for. Cosmos is the kind of shop that rewards patience, passion, and people who truly listen.

Awesome spot for crate digging on a budget or for the audiophile after those rare pressings. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and simply love music. They were happy to show me a lot of rare gems and even played samples on the turntable. Recommend both shops to those that love music of all genres

You get what you pay for- some incredible finds in this little place, owner is a man worth supporting. Don’t get upset when the price is high- owner knows what his records are worth, just means he knows and loves what he does. You pay market price, but you see it before you buy it- better then buying online with risk, especially when it comes to sought after vintage mints other places probably don’t have.

Cool records shop! Enjoyed browsing through and seeing what covers stood out to me. ☺️ Lots of city pop, jazz, disco, and rock music here. There were record players, which I think you can use to listen to the records (they were sealed, so I think you need to ask the shop owner for permission!)

First time in Toronto and I was outstanded at the breadth of funk and disco bits in here. Hisa's knowledge was encyclopedic and he pulled out some great records after seeing what I'd found myself. Hopefully I'll be here again!!!

Dropped by for my first time Saturday - left with a GREAT Japanese Blue Note 1979 pressing - The Magnificent Thad Jones - impeccable condition. An amazing selection of Jazz classics - fair market prices and the young man working at the shop has a great depth of knowledge about Jazz records / which pressings are best selection. Highly recommended. Will return next time I’m in town with a longer shopping list.

my favorite record store in the GTA. some pricey pieces but also some really good steals, some even $5! Owner was great, and even had a super friendly dog. Knowledgable staff and great selection. Will pop by every time I’m downtown!

***As a preface, I rarely write any kind of detailed review, but if you are a vinyl collector, kindly read on understanding I’m not a noob collector and have a good understanding of how things work*** A happy accident happened when my spouse wanted to purchase some jazz records for my birthday armed with just knowlege of some of the artists I liked. She came home with 5 copies of NM Japanese records which I did not have and honestly were not even on my radar. Not because I didn't want them, but I simply did not know much about them. She presented me with several titles, and I was excited to have some new titles to explore. She did tell me that if I had anything I wanted to exchange, that I could return even without the receipt. The day after my birthday, I was mostly intrigued to go to the shop as the selection that was curated for her was very impressive based on the limited information she provided. I entered with the records and met Aki who remembered selecting the titles for my birthday and we started a discussion about pressings and artists. In 15 minutes, I learned more about Japanese pressings (Kings vs Toshibas for example) which one would not expect at a record store. I slightly adjusted my birthday presents for alternate pressings and added 2 more records! One I'm pretty sure he even threw in because it was my birthday. I have fairly good relationships with all the core record stores around the city and I thought I had all of them covered. But I was wrong and I'm extremely happy to have added Cosmos and Aki to my list. If you are a jazz collector and MUST have that Japanese pressing, you must visit this store. Be warned you may get anxious once you see how many core collection titles are there, but you won't regret your purchase here. Thanks again Aki and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Agree with the general sentiment of the other reviews. This is by far the best vintage jazz collection in TO, but expect to pay a premium. Prices are at least 20% more than what you'd pay elsewhere in town. However, if you MUST have that Japanese version of whomever, then this is the destination. Personally I treat this place more like a museum.

Best store for vintage jazz records in Toronto. Great selection of near mint Japanese pressings. Contrary to other reviews, I find the prices to be better than most online options (after currency exchange, shipping, etc.).

Very cool store with great location and friendly staff! Just a 1 block walk away from the subway I love that they have a lot of space, some other shops it gets a bit claustrophobic to browse around but here is pretty wide space in my opinion.

Knowledgeable, quick and great selection! Great addition to the area. Ordered a vinyl online the night before and their site was very helpful in providing information about where to pick up or if there's shipping. We chose pick up at this location on Bloor St W, and it was already available the next day! Their online database is very accurate and is very full of information. Stopped by the store for the online order, staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They were very organized on the pickup section. Everything is clean and organized in the store. Love the variety of accessories, vinyl, CDs and much more! Definitely would come back again to see what's in stock and adding to our list of places to support artists.

If your a record hound , and I fan of real albums this is a place to visit. Lots to choose from . A great mix of all forms of music. Any if the records I saw were in great shape. Good prices too, 5-10 dollar range. Helpful staff , relaxed and helpful .

Had a really, really wonderful experience with these guys ordering from BC. I reached out to them to see if they had a few limited edition records I've been looking for that were listed as out of stock, and they went out of their way to track them down for me from other locations and brought them in so I wouldn't have to make multiple orders. They were very helpful advising me on purchasing the records I wanted that were in-stock and marking them as "pick up in store", and then made sure they were included with the ones they'd tracked down for me when they notified me they were listed online for purchase for me. Everything arrived safe and sound promptly about three days ago, and it was all packed very carefully and in excellent condition. Shipping was fast, efficient, and they really made a kind of complicated sale very painless for me. The reason I still want to go to specialized record stores like this instead of buying online from big box distributors is because of stuff like this -- the salespeople actually know the product they're selling and really care about using their knowledge to make sure you get what you need with as pleasant of an experience as possible. Didn't have any problems with my order but I'm sure if I did, they'd be easy to work it out with. Thanks again for the records, I love them so much! The next time I'm looking for limited presses that I can't find locally, I know where to look.

I called Dead Dog Records and spoke with Sam on the phone - let me say, she is as lovely in person as she is on the phone!! I asked if they had a record player that I had a 45 I needed to record the melody into my phone … she was more than happy to oblige. I also met Hailey while I was there - they offer up warm smiles and great customer service!! What a cool place to stroll down memory lane - some of those vinyls are epic and I couldn’t help but snap some pics and hang out with them for a bit. They have a really big selection of various records and different items. Different t-shirts and lots of different stuff inside the shop. I took some photos for reference. Really well organized and different sales depending on what you're looking for. Recommended if you have some time in the neighbourhood!

Great place to find cds and DVDs they have a wide variety of old and new ish artist all cds are used but in good condition bit pricey compared to thrift stores but you pay for quality not quantity

Came by to get some DVDs I was looking for and they had them. Store is a little small however the selection of movies is very good. They also have CDs. This place is very good if your looking for physical media stuff.

A great place to sell and buy used physical media. I don' t know the gentleman's name who is always there when I visit but he's super nice and helpful. They don't always take what you bring in which is perfectly understandable, if they can't sell it why would they buy it. But for the most part the trade ins are fair and I always put them towards something new. PHYSICAL MEDIA FOREVER!

I had the best customer service experience of my life at Dine Alone. Matthew went above and beyond our expectations, recommended some incredible records, showed a great deal of patience, and treated us with such kindness, even though there were only 20 minutes left before the store closed. I will never forget this true example of Canadian hospitality. I look forward to coming back soon.

I went in with high expectations and they were wildly exceeded. The space has a super warm and comforting energy. I went in with my 1 and 3 year old, and the guys at the front were immediately so welcoming and engaging. If you’re a parent, you get that that can be a rare occurrence when you have little ones in tow. No one was sitting around on their phones, they were being lovely social humans which was so great to see. Great selection, I found what I was looking for and then some. Then, to take it over the top, the guys made my three year old’s day by giving him a bunch of stickers, and then when I had driven two blocks away only for him to tell me that he had lost his the dice he was proudly carrying around all day, I went back in to look for it and all three guys looked around so thoroughly and with a legitimate mission to help me…it was super kind and totally made my day. The space oozes with art and personality, and ultimately feels like it carries the energy of everyone who works there, has performed there, shopped there, or just straight up hung out there. Cheers to spaces that embody and represent so many great things that make being human awesome, and the people that create them. Cheers to community. Thanks Dine Alone!

Dine Alone Store has an excellent collection of records I won't find anywhere else in town - at reasonable prices too! I found this record store online when browsing for one specific vinyl and left with 3 🫣 My wallet haaaates to see me coming here lol.

Best punk vinyl store in Toronto. Posters, toys, pins, and a lot of options and competitive prices for used punk. Some grails there too, particularly classic can-punk ones! Highly recommended. Website is ok, store reveals more.

Great selection of new releases, re-releases, and used. Primarily punk rock / hardcore. Worth a visit for all the posters and fliers from the 80s. Impressive.

Best spot for hardcore/punk records north of the border. Emissions is a must on any trip to Toronto. They are modest size shop with a great selection of new and used, that means you can browse most of their stock but not get tunnel vision from digging through crates for 2 hours. Major points for everyone that works there being so dang nice and forgoing any judgement when you haven’t heard a band.

Cool shop with lots of punk and hardcore records. Specially make sure to check their used selection, for some older and rarer albums.

A vinyl café with two levels filled with records. such a cool concept! Seating is limited, but the atmosphere is really nice and the lighting is beautiful. If you’re into vinyl, this place probably feels like heaven. As someone who doesn’t know much about records, I was just here for the vibes 😅 👉 Latte ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ ($4.5) It’s okay, slightly burnt, drinkable but nothing special. You’re honestly better off coming here for the music rather than the coffee.

My latest visit to High Notes was Record Store Day just past. Once again I got what I was praying I'd find in the store. Chris and his friendly knowledgable staff always on their A game. Truly passionate about their product and customer satisfaction. Do not hesitate vinyl friends and collectors alike to get to both High Notes locations to have some fun, do some diggin' and enjoy a beverage at this champion of a record store. Finally had a chance to stop by and was so impressed by how clean and tidy this little shop was. The selection of records are well curated, and they also have caffeine to help fuel your shopping experience! Ryan, one of the owners, was so lovely, greeted us and made us our coffees. They’ve got a great little nook by the front of the shop for you to sip your cuppa and watch the streetcars go by. Overall, great vibe and such a welcome addition to our neighborhood. Will definitely be back!

Very cool spot! A hidden gem in Toronto. Love the concept. They are licensed and also have great coffee. Two storey vinyl shop. I was there on a Sunday and they had live music which was a nice touch. Great selection of hip hop. I asked them if could hunt down a album for me and they found it within a week. Very helpful staff!

Awesome record shop. They have the oldskool house and electronic vinyl that's in short supply at the other shops. Prices are really reasonable and there are two turntables you can use to listen to your tracks before you buy. The guy who works there is really friendly and professional too. Invisible City is a gem in Toronto.

A great place for older records. They offer free records that are still great quality as well! The place has a comfy, tucked away vibe and the people working are very friendly. Overall, definitely a nice place to visit.

Genuinely the best record shop in Toronto. I’ve found records no other place had, and for cheaper than any in-person, online or Discogs/eBay vendor. The people working there are also very kind and knowledgeable. I was recommended by a friend to go here and it’s my favourite place now.

Extremely disappointed with my experience pre-ordering a Record Store Day vinyl from KOPS Records. I paid for the record in full on RSD under their “No Cash Refunds” policy, only to later have my order cancelled because KOPS records could not fulfill it. That was already frustrating, but what made the experience worse was being contacted afterward with an opportunity to “repurchase” the same record — except now at a higher price. What I found especially misleading was that the price increase was not disclosed in the original email offering the repurchase option. I only discovered the higher cost after receiving the payment link in a separate email. I understand supply issues can happen, but customers should not be penalized financially for fulfillment problems that were completely outside of their control. If a retailer cancels a paid pre-order due to their own supply chain issues, the least they can do is honor the original agreed-upon price when offering replacement stock. As a longtime customer at KOPS, this was a very disappointing handling of what should have been a straightforward customer service issue. --------------Response------------------ From the owners response below, what continues to disappoint me is the complete lack of accountability or acknowledgment around how the repurchase process itself was communicated and how it reasonably came across from the customer perspective. The issue was never simply “$3 more for a different copy.” The issue was transparency. From the customer side, the experience looked like this: 1) I paid for an Olivia Dean RSD record (No Cash Refund) preorder through KOPS. 2) My order was cancelled due to supply issues outside my control. 3) Weeks later, I received an email offering me another opportunity to buy the same title. 4) That email did not mention any price increase. 5) Only afterward was I sent a payment link with a higher price attached. This sequence understandably creates the impression that the customer is being asked to pay more after already dealing with a cancelled order. Whether or not this was internally categorized as a “completely separate transaction” does not change how that communication appeared externally to the customer. What’s disappointing to me is that instead of acknowledging that the communication could have been clearer upfront, the owners response below have focused almost entirely on defending intent and framing my review as an attack on staff. To be clear again: my above review was never intended as a personal criticism of any employee. I appreciate the effort that went into obtaining additional copies, and I understand that this was intended as a goodwill gesture. My criticism is specifically about the lack of transparency in the repurchase communication and now, also the unwillingness to acknowledge why a customer might reasonably react negatively to how it unfolded. At the end of the day, this could simply have been handled as a learning point: clearly disclose pricing changes upfront (and why) in the initial outreach re-order email - I genuinely think that would have prevented this entire situation. I still value local record stores deeply - or else why would I drive to the Queen St KOPS location on the morning of RSD to place a pre-order? This is why this experience has been most disappointing to me.

This record shop is about to become my favourite in town. You can order from their website and pick it up in store to save shipping fees. The selection is great, at least in my favourite categories: 70s/80s pop/rock, and the quality and price of their used records is unmatched. Their tagline sounds true to me.

One of the best record stores in Toronto, no question. The vibe is super chill, and the staff are helpful without being pushy. They’ve got an awesome selection of both new and used vinyl, everything from classics to niche finds. I was especially happy to see they had Melodrama by Lorde in stock, which is one of my all-time top album recommendations. If you’re into thoughtful, emotional pop with gorgeous production, definitely grab it. Prices are reasonable, and flipping through the crates is always a vibe. If you’re into vinyl, this place is a must-visit.

I stopped by to add a few new records to my vinyl collection and ended up finding far more options than I expected. The selection of both new and pre-owned records was well organized, making it easy to browse through different genres. The staff were friendly and offered some great recommendations based on what I was looking for. It's a fantastic shop for anyone who loves music and collecting vinyl. I'll definitely be back to expand my collection.

Had to move over 300 records quickly that could not go back into my house. Was offered a bizarre and insulting, rock bottom price of what works out to be 45 cents per record with a nonsensical and kind of contradictory explanation from the buyer. I took the offer because he would not budge and I literally can't take them back because I'm moving and have no room for them. I feel dirty taking their money. Their marketing leans on the fair "family" business angle, but only one of those F words was in play and it wasn't the one that ends with an R. On the upside, the cashier and the buyer were very friendly and polite. And now cue a defensive reply from the owner saying my records were all garbage they couldn't easily move, and that they were doing me a favour...

How far they have fallen! You used to be able to expect at least VG+ from most vintage records outside the value bins. Now, you'd be lucky to get a G+. And the prices have only gone up. Not only that, but they do not have any playback stations and won't even play a bit of a record if you ask. And yet, they do not allow returns. We'll, if you want us to go off visuals alone, the record you priced at $60 is worth $20 at best. No thanks. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Edit: They have replied to my review claiming I wanted them to playtest a $5 value record. I never even got to hand them the record. The record was priced somewhere between $55 and $60. But of course they don't know this because then never even looked at the record. I asked "Can you play a little bit of this for me" and only got a blunt "no". This record was not from the value bins. It was from the vintage new arrival bins. Also, it's not just the interaction that warrants a 1-star. It's the policy and quality control of your stock. The records you let into your regular bins are records that should be in the value bins, and you price them as if they're in much better shape than they are. Sonic Boom has the same overpricing and grading issues, but at least they allow playtests. Edit: The lies are appalling. Look no further than this interaction to see how the staff at this store behave. I gave a one-star to a value village that lied about accepting donations. Most of my reviews are positive. The record in question was a brown-covered pressing of Pet Sounds from the 70s priced over $50. You will know this because you've probably sold it since. Not to mention, your staff at the Danforth location are some if the rudest, most stuck-up unhelpful holier-than-though staff in the city. What happened to "I'm sorry, I wish I could help, but it's our policy"? You clearly have no respect for your customers, as evidenced by how you argue about reviews with lies instead of attempting conflict resolution. What about my behaviour is missing? I did not cause a scene. Only walked away. Please release the camera footage. Unbelievable. And it keeps on coming. The word sorry was never uttered once. Dialogue: Me: Could you play a bit of this for me. Staff: No. Me: Oh. Would I be able to return it then? Staff: We don't accept returns. Me, shocked by the bluntness and harsh stare: Okay, then I can't. Goes and puts it back in the bin and leaves, feeling incredibly insulted by the bluntness and hostility. It's hard to have a friendly conversation with someone when you're hit with an abrupt "No" followed by silence and a stare. I chose to walk away rather than make a fuss. By the way, you accused me of lying about the price of the record. I've now told you what record it was. You're strangely silent about that. But hey, keep responding. The best way to show how friendly you are is to lash out at anyone who leaves a bad review (look through their review history to see more examples). And the balls to tell me it's best not to shop there anymore. Like I'd ever consider giving you a cent of my money after how you've been acting. It's a shame because the staff at the Queen Street location are absolutely lovely and some of the kindest staff I've met. But knowing the money all goes to you, I cannot ethically ever ship there again.

I’m absolutely thrilled to have discovered this gem of a retro games store! I have a feeling it’s going to become my favorite spot in no time. During my visit, I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, who turned out to be a truly friendly and welcoming person. We talked for quite a while about various games, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The prices in the store are exceptionally reasonable, making it easy for both casual gamers and serious collectors to find something special without breaking the bank. Bought a used switch from here, works perfectly. The guy running the store (i assume the owner) was really chill, down to earth and completely honest with all his advice and guidance. Made it a real easy choice The stock he has is amazing. Go have a look in person, its a cool store (small but cool) , you can always check on their website for anything, and if they dont have something they can take your number to call you when they get something in. Great find. Can't believe I almost went to best buy like a douchebag

The owner is really nice , helpful. You can tell hes really passionate about his business. I went there around the time he was going to close during the snow storm. He was still there , working. Best place to buy retro/modern game consoles & games. Joe is a wonderful guy, very polite and friendly. Bought a Nintendo DSI XL for a fair price. The console is pretty big and it fits in my hand perfectly so I don’t get any hand cramps while playing. There are tiny bit of scratches on the top of the screen & a few on the back of the console. It doesn’t affect me during gaming sessions though since it’s not noticeable when I play. D-Pad and buttons work perfectly fine! I’m loving my DS 😍 If y’all live in Toronto or are planning to visit the city, make sure to stop by Last Gen Used!

Visited the store today on a whim with a friend. The owner was super nice and friendly. Was a genuine vibe in the store even during closing hour. Offered info on the games like PS5 upgrades etc. Give it a gander if you're nearby. Will return in future 😊.

A classic old style vinyl record shop in The Junction. Lots of musical variety, both common and rare records. Proprietor George is knowledgeable with an encyclopedic knowledge of the psychadelic and 60's punk era. A great TO record store and well worth a visit.

George has an excellent selection of lp's, some very obscure. If he doesn't have what you're looking for, he'll try his best to find it!

For those looking for a place rich in culture, literature, and music, you'll find everything from the oldest to the most recent. The store has a large facade, making it easy to find, and it's also close to several restaurants, shops, bakeries, and more. As soon as you enter, you'll find the children's and teens' sections, and as you walk along, you'll find older books, short stories, poetry, stories, and much more. The selection of audiotapes is huge, and the vinyl records are simply incredible. The store's service is excellent, and they accept cash and cards. For those traveling by public transportation, there are many buses in the area, and for those driving, there are street parking lots and some private parking lots. It's definitely worth a visit.

Not a bad place. I enjoy their organization of CDs and the fact that they have a few more cassettes than a thrift store would. As well there are plenty of books scattered throughout the store. However, some of their music discs WHICH ARE CASE ONLY, NO CD sell at the same price as others, which was pretty deceiving. Also I saw an interesting book but it wasn't for sale yet so that was a bit disappointing. For my first visit I left with only one CD because the other interesting ones didn't have a disc. I may come back at some point.

Such a great collection of books, vinyl, CDs and DVDs. I come often with my family and we can spend hours. I enjoy translated fiction and the classics and have been adding to my personal library several volumes at a time and one of my sons loves obscure vinyl and another DVDs and they never leave empty handed. One of the joys of the neighbourhood!

Pandemonium is one of the best places in Toronto to buy new and used records from bands from all over the world and Canada. You can find your favourite band, and they even have a small selection of Latin and Brazilian music, including salsa and tango. There are also a variety of CDs and books. The place is nice and the service is excellent.

Small little hole-in-the-wall shop with surprisingly extensive selection. Browsed for a long time with friends through their offerings of vinyls, CDs, cassettes, and posters. A lot of great finds, both standard and special edition music, especially lots of past RSD exclusives. Snagged a copy of Charli xcx's 2025 RSD exclusive of Guess with Billie Eilish (surprised they still had it a year later!) and a copy of Sabrina Carpenter's Please Please Please 7" single. They also had a copy of Taylor Swift's 2026 RSD exclusive of Elizabeth Taylor almost 2 weeks later which was really surprising since it was quite highly sought after.

It's a fantastic record shop that I've been going to since 1995. Great selection, reasonable prices and a cool owner. Today I picked up another hard-to-find classic. Thanks for hanging in there.

AMAZING shop. Wow!!!! I am absolutely blown away by not only the variety, but the incredible prices. There is so much variety across the board from all genres and artists, the vinyl prices are much better than the other record stores in Toronto around Queen West. I was looking for a very very niche artist, and I actually found a record from this artist for an incredible price (and it was an Urban Outfitters limited edition to top it off). I have been searching other stores in the area and never able to find anything. I will definitely be back again soon!!! Incredible shop you have!!!!!!

Bought a couple records here on rsd. One of my records was mislabeled as a colour vinyl when it was actually black. Very disappointing. Also no discounts for records on rsd. Kinda pricey too, as the 7 inch I bought was $35. Good find but a lot to charge for one song.

Play De Record was the spot that shaped my teenage years as a drum & bass DJ. Every weekend, I’d dig through crate after crate, narrowing down my stack to whatever I could afford and leaving behind an unorganized pile that the staff never once complained about it. It was just part of the culture. This place gave me comfort, community, and access to DJ promos and white labels that helped me stay ahead of the curve in a fiercely competitive scene. It’s also where I bought my first pressings of my Eminem collection; records that have since become pretty valuable but mean more to me for their memories than their price. Fast forward 25 years, I walked back into the new location and instantly felt that same energy. The same kind of over-the-counter banter, the same depth of knowledge, and that same feeling that this is where gems exist before the rest of the world realizes they’re gems. Picked up some killer limited-edition instrumental funk records this time around, and I can’t wait to return with my old jungle vinyl to trade in for more. Such a vibe coming here and buying my first ever vinyl with a friend of mine! Fion (aka. Sadstab) was such a lovely lad to talk to and hear about all the unique experiences they’ve done, from tattooing band members to recommending me the perfect records to listen to. I ended up buying one of their recommendations and am very satisfied! It seems like the store is very tight-knit with their customers and regularly hold concerts! I also was able to buy stickers of Eugene, a very charming fellow. Overall, I’ll definitely be coming back for the vibes!

This is the first record store I've been to where I actually regret spending my money. I get that it's a hip-hop-oriented record store, so maybe asking if they had a country section was a curveball, but the country album I was looking for was clearly listed as being in stock on their website. The man with long hair and glasses that I talked to was so comically passive-aggressive that I couldn't help but laugh on the spot. And as I was trying to leave, one of the other employees straight up just stood by the front door, totally idle; I had to literally ask him to move. Considering the utterly disorganized nature of the shop and its embarrassing preoccupation with social media clout and the musicians that visit the store, I can't help but wonder just how exactly this place remains in business.

We found Record Collective through our wedding coordinator and they were such a perfect fit for us. We didn’t want the typical wedding vibe — we wanted something different to wow our guests and keep the energy high — and Alain totally nailed it! Came to the new space to pick up a vinyl I ordered via a phonecall—the owner was kind enough to hold it for me but I know you can place orders on the site to pick up in store. Also love that the vinyls are arranged in alphabetical order instead of by music genre…much easier to find what one needs. He’s also able to place special orders when needed.

As a vinyl newbie, I had an amazing experience at Resolute Records and would 100% recommend it to anyone interested in starting (or growing) their collection! I actually stumbled upon this place on my way to a different record store and am so glad I did! The store is small but mighty, and I managed to snag 8 new records (the first ones in my collection!) during my first visit. The owner, Jovahn, is one of the kindest and most knowledgeable people you will meet and his passion for vinyl clearly shines through. Not only did he help me find the vinyls I needed, he also took the time to answer my (many) questions and offer advice about vinyl care. Within a short time, Resolute Records has quickly become my go-to vinyl spot and I will definitely be back soon :)

Bought 4 records from this shop online. There is free shipping it arrived well packaged and on time. Certain albums they sell at this shop are cheaper priced than other Toronto record stores. Mostly new albums they list online. Overall I would recommend shopping here online.

An incredible space for the city. With an extensive collection of underground electronic records, carefully curated DJ events specific to the culture and the people. Rhythm hosts daytime & nighttime parties, and also brew the best lattes around! I almost don’t believe it! Very impressed!!!

Rotate This is our local and I just love it so much. I’ve found so many hard-to-find records here, the staff are amazing, and the selection is rich and eclectic — with everything from new releases to Brazilian Bossa Nova and Chopin. Anyway, today I found my white whale and they were selling it for a totally ethical and accessible price — because that’s just it. They love music, they know you love music, and they make sure music is for all of us. Love them.

Smashing IT! Oh, how I miss the days of when like-minded people would dash off to the record store to listen to some awesome music. It was a delightful adventure back then. Our musical ears and souls desired these visits to the record store on a regular basis. Rotate This brings me back to those days without having to gear up and dust off the ole Time Machine. I recently got back into vinyl, after selling my collection, when I had amassed several hundred CDs, many years ago. They have a great selection and their prices are very reasonable. The staff are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I'll be purchasing all my vinyl at this gem of a record store. A+

The layout of the shop is exceptionally well-structured. Instead of cramming shelves together, they’ve created a vast, open-concept floor plan that allows you to truly lose yourself in the stacks. The cataloging system is an absolute dream for any serious collector - expertly divided by genre, sub-genre & historical eras, spanning everything from rare local indie releases and classic jazz presses to obscure international electronic imports. The sheer volume of their vinyl, CD, and cassette inventory is impressive, but it’s the condition and curation that stand out. Every used record is accurately graded, cleaned & priced fairly. What I appreciate most is the tactile, unhurried atmosphere. They have listening stations where you can actually drop a needle on a record, put on headphones, and test a track before making a commitment. It forces you to engage with the music intentionally, rather than just skipping through a 30-second preview online. The basement level is another brilliant dimension of the shop, packed with vintage music tees, books on counterculture history, turntables & unique local art. I love this place and the staff are very kind. But some of the CDs were sold out and it was a little bit disappointing. Not only the music albums, there are lots of charming goods. You have to visit here if you are passionate about music.

An Amazing selection of Vinyls and CDs ranging from $5.99 to $50 depending on how popular the artist is. Unfortunately, the artists that I like such as SZA and Bruno Mars are some of those artists where their CDs are priced at $30+ but it was still worth checking out!

man in their clearly doesn't want to do his job. got mad at me when I struggled finding an album in a strangely organized line of albums. he literally talked bad about me to his coworker in front of me. (this guy came in yesterday and couldn't blank blank blank). I would actually love to spend money if I could find the album, or the staff wasn't so ego filled to not help me !!!!

Went out of my way to visit this place, as I was particularly interested in their film collection. Upon arriving, I was surprised to find that all of their films are behind the counter, and are not available for browsing. You need to ask the staff to have a look at anything you’re interested in. This is the first time I have come across a setup like this. I understand that it is likely to address theft, but as a regular consumer just looking to spend his time looking through the titles, and potentially buy a few things, it is less than ideal, a little awkward and weird, and I probably won’t be visiting again because of it.

I LOVE this store. They have selection that you will not find at any other Sunrise, and even the hidden gem record stores! Also check out their cool movie and games/plushy selection! (and their posters, since my walls are too full of them now ahah). HUGE shout out to Robert. He remembers what music and bands customers love, he gives great suggestions, and he is such a friendly guy. Incredibly knowledgeable about music and pop culture. The world needs more people like him!

I can't say enough good things about this place and Julian in particular. I've now brought in both a receiver and a turntable for repair, and the experience has been outstanding each time. Julian really knows his stuff and takes the time to explain what's wrong and what needs to be done—no unnecessary upselling, just honest, expert service. In a world where it often feels cheaper to replace than repair, it's refreshing to find someone who can breathe new life into quality equipment without breaking the bank. This is the kind of local shop that deserves all the support it can get. Highly recommended!

Great turntable service! This shop has all the right feels. My latest upgrade is for my reference system, a new OM Bronze installed and tested. This most satisfied customer, will be returning. Store floor plan is large with room - great selection of vinyl. Used amps and tt are on display. Shop local, support independent record stores.

Nice shop, great service, unreliable hours. :( The shop is closed three days a week, and open Thurs - Sun. There have been several times where I've tried to visit when they were meant to be open, only to find 'closed early' signs on the door. Limited daytime hours of 12PM-6PM makes it very difficult to visit if you work a 9-to-5 and can't make it on the weekend. I visited on a Sunday looking for MOFI Inner Sleeves. I wanted very badly to shop local, to avoid Amazon whenever possible. I was told they were out of stock, that they'd arrive tomorrow, but that the shop itself wouldn't re-open until Thursday. On Thursday, I left work early to make it before the 6PM close. Arrived just after 5PM to find a sign reading "closed early, c u tmrw! :)" Trying to support these folks can be challenging. Nice crew, but limited hours that aren't even guaranteed stings big time.

Messed up an old player I got from my parents recently and was looking to get it fixed up. Lots of places here have absolutely insane pricing, so when I came here and got a reasonable price for what I needed done I was very quick to hand it over to them. Owner was very understanding and reassured me it was a quick fix to get it working good as new. 10/10 for service, pricing and just general charm from the workers :]

Amazing vintage toy and collectible shop in Toronto. Transformers, G.I. Joe, Masters Of The Universe, Shogun Warriors... they have a lot of amazing stuff packed into a small space. Looks like they get new items in regularly so each visit is a unique experience. If you're looking for a great store to visit while in the city this is the place !

If you want a place where you’ll find surprises beyond your wildest dreams, look no further! It’s been pretty dry going around the GTA looking for Transformers figures, but when I came to this store I was blown away. Figures from G1, to Modern, to third party figures; they are all here at great prices and it’s an insane look through because you never know what you’re going to find! The owner is super knowledgeable, kind, and enthusiastic about their figures and was an absolute delight to speak to!! Whenever I’m back in town, this is the place I’ll be going

Love this place! I have lots of really nice memories looking around here with my Dad. Before it was a record store it was a cafe called Rocket Fuel which my Dad worked at, and Keith keeps that vintage cafe vibe going strong! The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable and friendly. I’ve spent hours there browsing the shelves and crates of records. I always walk out with a gem, and there are usually new arrivals to have a look at. Gotta be one of my favourite places to go on a rainy Saturday. A wonderful place to have in the neighborhood, and a classic spot to listen to tunes, chat with friends and add to your vinyl collection. 😊

Great record store in South Etobicoke with vintage vibe, offering new and used records, CDs, books and some memorabilia. $5 and $10 bins usually have some decent records, and don't forget to visit the back room. They also serve tea and coffee.
