The drum lesson was an amazing experience! It was so therapeutic. I was so relaxed after. I can’t believe we played so well and learned so much about the history. I was a great way to clear my mind and blow off steam. Thank you for the fantastic lesson. I was not expecting to play this large drum as well as the djembe drum. The store was filled with so many gorgeous historical African Artifacts, fabrics, statues, instruments, jewelry and many everyday supplies like Kitchen wooden spoons, Bowls, Incense, clothes, bags, toys and African cultural day to day things. Wonderful paintings. These are great gifts. I’ll be back!

Great African drum shop! They have a beautiful selection of handmade drums and other traditional instruments. The person there is knowledgeable and friendly, and the quality of the drums is excellent. A perfect place for music lovers or anyone interested in African culture

Had an amazing opportunity to participate in a drum circle this past weekend as I walked into the shop. Life is all about embracing such spontaneous exchanges. I was welcomed with joy and left with a great memory.. Blessings Saikou!

I felt I found a spiritual brother surrounded by amazing hands craft instruments. Never wanted to leave that amazing and creative space. You are great craftman, musician and teacher. Keep up the good work! My first African drumming brother in Canada! Lots of respect and love from London.

Allegro has been around for decades. I recently stopped in to get my kid a Conservatory book. The shopkeeper was knowledgeable and pointed us in the right direction. The store itself though is a disaster. We literally had to climb over boxes to look at music books. Things are stacked up all over the place and everything is covered in a layer of dust.

Frank… this review is for you my friend. I brought in a guitar that was left to be junked. I wanted to save her, but didn’t have the tools and means to do it. He helped explain and show me , in pure detail, what was wrong and what was needed to bring her back to life. I was shocked on the price he offered to fix it and the short turn around to do so. Long story short, Frank is the hero of this story and now she plays like a dream. Guitar : Epiphone SJ 15 RB Thank you 🙏 Support your local business, we need more music in our busy lives.

Not the most convenient set of store hours. Travelled through traffic to get here, only to find it closed all day Friday?? Check the hours before going

Justin Jamieson ★★★★★ a year ago

Six months ago, on my 50th birthday, I stopped into this place with my brother, hoping to find a decent acoustic guitar for a reasonable price. I figured I'd look around for 20 mins and maybe hit Long & McQuade after. I had been using borrowed junk for years, and thought I'd get a little more serious. The proprietor took the time to let me try a bunch of guitars in my price range. It was a great combination of answering my questions and leaving me be. I was there for about an hour or so and I made a decision on a beautiful Yamaha. As I was cashing out, a rep from Ibanez came in and the four of us were shooting the breeze for another half hour. It felt like hanging with (new) friends. No sales pressure, owner just made sure I was going to be happy with my purchase. Thank you!

The seller was very polite to us. We bought a guitar for our daughter. He explained how to handle a musical instrument correctly. My daughter is delighted with the purchase. Thank you.

This is a GREAT shop. Truly the definition of quality over quantity. Fair prices, friendly owner, and you will often stumble across a hidden gem or two you didn't expect to pick up. They also have a $1/$2/$3 record blowout sale every year which is a great opportunity to score some classics at bottom of the barrel prices.

Beautiful shop, cool owners, it was really fun chatting with Courtney, as a newbie into this, she helped out pretty well!

This place is a used vinyl collector’s dream, especially if you’re looking for rare or limited pressings of classics. The shopkeeper is so sweet and there are some really impressive finds here! Definitely recommend, especially if you have the time to spend looking through the crates.

I brought in part of my dad's beloved record collection for an appraisal and had a great experience from beginning to end with the owner. We loved the store, it feels like a special place as soon as you walk in. The vibe is so much better than other vinyl shops in the city. The owner was friendly and kind, helping us unload our collection and we immediately knew we brought them to the right place. She gave us a very fair price and peace of mind knowing these records will be loved and played as they once were. Don't hesitate to bring your records here, you won't regret it. And enjoy this place, it's a gem.

Russ ★★★ 2 months ago

Like others have said, the owner is a nice guy but no amount of personality can make up for overcharging and permanently damaging the sleeves by scribbling the prices on them with black sharpie. You will often find lower prices on eBay. Come in here to browse and get inspired, then go somewhere else to actually pull the trigger.

Joe and Teresa were absolutely incredible as owners and people to me! I gave them a call looking for particular CDs, little did I know they’ve been closed due to health issues. They mentioned they had what I was looking for and told me to come by after work, opening the shop for me. I walked out with the CDs as promised, an original pressing of Fleetwood Mac Rumors (that I’ve been trying to find for years) and a huge smile after a lively conversation. Felt like I was with family!! Really appreciate Joe and Teresa taking the time to open up the store - and the discount. If there is anything particular you want sourced you can give them a call and see if they are able to fulfill. Wishing them both all the best on their health issues ☺️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💯 ©bigfix™productions Beach Sound Records Review Feb 2023 Yesterday, I took an uphill snow walk to the Kingston road to check out my new, favourite, local record store: Beach Sound Records. I’d spent the previous night scouring the net for a copy of the now rare, Morricone’s ‘The Mission’ on vinyl, 1986 original Virgin pressing, ranging in price from $55 Cdn to $75 US + del charges. On line, one cannot inspect the quality of the picture sleeve or vinyl, so I was more than happy to meet with Joe & the ability to see, touch & hear what I was buying - all hail the old world of analogue authenticity & real customer service, makes one feel a tad more human. Joe’s great store, vinyl selection & music knowledge reminded me of record shopping back in the day, I paid in cash & got a hand-written receipt too. Near perfect quality for a recording almost 40 years old, the memories came pouring back. Better price than on net, no wait for delivery, had a splendid chat with Joe - currently have him sourcing me a copy of Badalamenti’s ‘Twin Peaks’, 1990, another rarity & blast from the past - fingers crossed!

BellyBuster
★★★★☆ 3.9 (480)

572 College Street, Toronto, M6G 1B3

Roger Zhang ★★★★ 2 years ago

Everyone always loves a good sandwich. Belly Buster Sub is a great place to go if you're looking for a quick and tasty lunch. It is exactly what you'd expect it to be, a humble submarine shop making sandwiches with fresh ingredients. Tastes much cleaner than Subway, but also a little pricier. A good option to add to the lunch rotation! As for my order, I had to go with the "Belly Buster Sub": roast beef, salami, mushrooms, gravy, and your choice of garnishes. I expected the gravy/mushrooms to be warm, but the whole sub was quite cold. Hard to say if I would've preferred it warm, it was still a very good sandwich. I'll know for next time. PS: They regularly sell their extra bread on TooGoodToGo at a big discount. Bonus point for reducing food waste!

Phreaky soul ★★★ 6 months ago

Went for the special 5$ sub. Good deal but the taste left me disappointed. The sub sauce aka Italian dressing was horrible. I could only manage to eat half. Another thing I did not like is that server grabbed a bun that looked like it was man handled and squished. If the bun looks like that toss it out or used it for staff. Presentation is important and if you serve people with food that doesn't look appetizing it's like you don't care. Also would be nice to see some diversity in employees. Toronto is about diversity not uniformity.

Caton L ★★ a year ago

I'm sorry I've given this place 3 tries and it's straight-up nigh garbage every time. Mr Sub is better It's edible, but never toasted properly with cold, stale toppings/fillings. Even the pizza sub. Cheese doesn't melt properly either Two redeeming qualities: it's open very late , and it's got decent cookies. I'm just glad I haven't gotten food poisoning from here yet

Mehernosh Bomanji ★★★★★ 8 months ago

I loved the sandwiches. However, for a sandwich place it is a little pricey When I compare it to a Subway. Though as the name suggests they were belly busters and I mean that in a good way. The sandwiches were loaded with meat and there six inch sandwich was practically an 8 or 9 inch sandwich. I will be visiting again. Location - King Street

Paige ★★★★★ 2 years ago

The best place for classic style submarine sandwiches in the downtown core. Consistent, reliable, good with special requests and a reasonable price for the ingredient quality. Their sub sauce and grainy mustard are fantastic for dressings. BB is my go to for when I can’t or don’t want to make dinner. Pictured: Turkey subs on whole wheat.

I visited CHIN RADIO recently. I grew up with my parents listening to this radio station with its Italian language presentation. It now broadcasts in many different languages. Both Johnny and Lenny Lombardi run an excellent radio station.

I used to listen to CHIN in the car with my kids all the time to expose them to my family’s cultures, Italian and Portuguese. We can’t even hear it anymore. Worst mistake moving away from 100.7! We miss you so much!

Hello CHIN The biggest mistake you guys did is to change the station on am 1540 now soon is you pass Woodbridge the frequency is gone bad choice I guess no more italian music for me in the car thx Lenny

Samantha Jones ★★★★★ 5 years ago

CHIN radio is simply the best. Please don't change a THING. Me and my boyfriend recently moved in together and the first morning we set our alarm to wake up at 6:00 am to 1540 AM radio by chance. We did that without knowing CHIN radio or the unique programming it schedules. We woke up to an old radio crime drama from the 50's (?) and we've been hooked ever since. Alongside that, they've played old western fiction, a drama abount a detective and his dog in the yukon, and many more that you cant find anywhere else. We don't even need to wake up that early anymore, but we still find ourselves setting the alarm every day just so we can lay in bed and listen to old radio shows before getting up to start the day. This radio station has become immersed into our morning routine and I hope it stays that way for rest of our lives!

Club Bass
★★★★☆ 4.4 (34)

698 The Queensway

Cian Allen ★★★★★ 11 months ago

Great selection of basses, and it's clear the owner takes real pride in his stock. I purchased a Sire Stingray from here and have been absolutely in love with it ever since. Some time after the purchase, I had it fully set up at Club Bass & Guitar, and it still feels absolutely amazing to play. The quality of both the instruments and the service really stands out.

Chris Nicoloff ★★★★★ 12 months ago

I bought a new Sire Marcus Miller P8 5 from Club Bass last year. I had an issue with the active pick ups 11 months later and called Dave Freeman to see if I could have this fixed. He asked me to come into the store and he would assess it to see if it could be repaired. It couldn’t so he immediately contacted the rep and advised him of issue. Dave was able to get me a brand new bass to replace it within a week. I highly recommend Club Bass as Dave being a bass player himself is highly knowledgeable with all of the instruments he sells and provides excellent customer service after the sale.

Drew Brania ★★★★★ 2 years ago

Club Bass is true music store gem in Toronto. Dave is an absolute pro, highly skilled at all things bass, and the only guy who was able to resolve my P-bass issues. In fact, he didn't even charge me. The thing plays wonderfully now, better than ever, and it's all thanks to Dave. I'll be bringing my other guitars here for setups (I insist that I pay next time though!), and will keep it in mind for my next big bass guitar purchase. Thank you Dave, amazing service and even better conversation. I appreciate you, brother!

M Chan 2 years ago

I agree with Luis Estrada. The owner is always rude when you call and want to ask questions about a product. Also, his pricing of guitars and basses very deceptive. He tries to mark up and inflate the currrent retail price, to create illusion that the sale price that he is selling it for, is a true "sale" price which represents an actual "good" deal. But in fact, you are actually paying the full retail price that was in effect at the time the Guitar or bass was ordered and delivered to his store. That is NOT a good deal! Just trickery on his part. Very dishonest. Buyer beware! Avoid this store.

S. van Engen ★★★★★ a year ago

Cosmos Records
★★★★★ 4.5 (150)

607A Queen Street West, Toronto

Dustin ★★★★★ 6 months ago

First time visiting Cosmos Records, and it instantly felt like stepping into a time capsule of jazz, soul, funk, and disco. The walls practically hum with history. Every bin is loaded with vintage gems and first pressings. Yeah, the prices are on the higher side, but that’s the tax you pay for quality and authenticity. These are serious collector pieces, not reissues you’ll find at the mall. Still, it gave me a moment’s pause.. but I get it. The gentleman working was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. No snob vibes, just pure love for music. The space itself has that quiet, lived-in record store energy: warm lighting, packed but well organized, and the faint cigarette smell of used vinyl that only real collectors know. I’ll absolutely be back when I’m hunting for that elusive soul, funk, or jazz pressing that’s worth paying a premium for. Cosmos is the kind of shop that rewards patience, passion, and people who truly listen.

Cool records shop! Enjoyed browsing through and seeing what covers stood out to me. ☺️ Lots of city pop, jazz, disco, and rock music here. There were record players, which I think you can use to listen to the records (they were sealed, so I think you need to ask the shop owner for permission!)

Cosmos Records is one of my favourite places to take guests on my tour. I know that Cosmos is guaranteed to have the best selection of original pressings and hard-to-find records. As a personal collector, there is no better place in the city for funk, soul, jazz, hip-hop and Brazilian.

Minuscule, narrow flagship location of local record store for soul, rock, hip-hop & disco vinyls.

***As a preface, I rarely write any kind of detailed review, but if you are a vinyl collector, kindly read on understanding I’m not a noob collector and have a good understanding of how things work*** A happy accident happened when my spouse wanted to purchase some jazz records for my birthday armed with just knowlege of some of the artists I liked. She came home with 5 copies of NM Japanese records which I did not have and honestly were not even on my radar. Not because I didn't want them, but I simply did not know much about them. She presented me with several titles, and I was excited to have some new titles to explore. She did tell me that if I had anything I wanted to exchange, that I could return even without the receipt. The day after my birthday, I was mostly intrigued to go to the shop as the selection that was curated for her was very impressive based on the limited information she provided. I entered with the records and met Aki who remembered selecting the titles for my birthday and we started a discussion about pressings and artists. In 15 minutes, I learned more about Japanese pressings (Kings vs Toshibas for example) which one would not expect at a record store. I slightly adjusted my birthday presents for alternate pressings and added 2 more records! One I'm pretty sure he even threw in because it was my birthday. I have fairly good relationships with all the core record stores around the city and I thought I had all of them covered. But I was wrong and I'm extremely happy to have added Cosmos and Aki to my list. If you are a jazz collector and MUST have that Japanese pressing, you must visit this store. Be warned you may get anxious once you see how many core collection titles are there, but you won't regret your purchase here. Thanks again Aki and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Greg Elmer ★★★ 6 years ago

Agree with the general sentiment of the other reviews. This is by far the best vintage jazz collection in TO, but expect to pay a premium. Prices are at least 20% more than what you'd pay elsewhere in town. However, if you MUST have that Japanese version of whomever, then this is the destination. Personally I treat this place more like a museum.

msiltama ★★★★★ 5 years ago

Best store for vintage jazz records in Toronto. Great selection of near mint Japanese pressings. Contrary to other reviews, I find the prices to be better than most online options (after currency exchange, shipping, etc.).

Had a really, really wonderful experience with these guys ordering from BC. I reached out to them to see if they had a few limited edition records I've been looking for that were listed as out of stock, and they went out of their way to track them down for me from other locations and brought them in so I wouldn't have to make multiple orders. They were very helpful advising me on purchasing the records I wanted that were in-stock and marking them as "pick up in store", and then made sure they were included with the ones they'd tracked down for me when they notified me they were listed online for purchase for me. Everything arrived safe and sound promptly about three days ago, and it was all packed very carefully and in excellent condition. Shipping was fast, efficient, and they really made a kind of complicated sale very painless for me. The reason I still want to go to specialized record stores like this instead of buying online from big box distributors is because of stuff like this -- the salespeople actually know the product they're selling and really care about using their knowledge to make sure you get what you need with as pleasant of an experience as possible. Didn't have any problems with my order but I'm sure if I did, they'd be easy to work it out with. Thanks again for the records, I love them so much! The next time I'm looking for limited presses that I can't find locally, I know where to look.

Carol F ★★★★★ 4 years ago

Knowledgeable, quick and great selection! Great addition to the area. Ordered a vinyl online the night before and their site was very helpful in providing information about where to pick up or if there's shipping. We chose pick up at this location on Bloor St W, and it was already available the next day! Their online database is very accurate and is very full of information. Stopped by the store for the online order, staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They were very organized on the pickup section. Everything is clean and organized in the store. Love the variety of accessories, vinyl, CDs and much more! Definitely would come back again to see what's in stock and adding to our list of places to support artists.

I went in with high expectations and they were wildly exceeded. The space has a super warm and comforting energy. I went in with my 1 and 3 year old, and the guys at the front were immediately so welcoming and engaging. If you’re a parent, you get that that can be a rare occurrence when you have little ones in tow. No one was sitting around on their phones, they were being lovely social humans which was so great to see. Great selection, I found what I was looking for and then some. Then, to take it over the top, the guys made my three year old’s day by giving him a bunch of stickers, and then when I had driven two blocks away only for him to tell me that he had lost his the dice he was proudly carrying around all day, I went back in to look for it and all three guys looked around so thoroughly and with a legitimate mission to help me…it was super kind and totally made my day. The space oozes with art and personality, and ultimately feels like it carries the energy of everyone who works there, has performed there, shopped there, or just straight up hung out there. Cheers to spaces that embody and represent so many great things that make being human awesome, and the people that create them. Cheers to community. Thanks Dine Alone!

Play De Record was the spot that shaped my teenage years as a drum & bass DJ. Every weekend, I’d dig through crate after crate, narrowing down my stack to whatever I could afford and leaving behind an unorganized pile that the staff never once complained about it. It was just part of the culture. This place gave me comfort, community, and access to DJ promos and white labels that helped me stay ahead of the curve in a fiercely competitive scene. It’s also where I bought my first pressings of my Eminem collection; records that have since become pretty valuable but mean more to me for their memories than their price. Fast forward 25 years, I walked back into the new location and instantly felt that same energy. The same kind of over-the-counter banter, the same depth of knowledge, and that same feeling that this is where gems exist before the rest of the world realizes they’re gems. Picked up some killer limited-edition instrumental funk records this time around, and I can’t wait to return with my old jungle vinyl to trade in for more. If you love music, culture, or vinyl history, watch the documentary “Drop the Needle.” It perfectly captures what makes Play De Record not just a store, but a piece of Toronto’s soul.

Best spot for hardcore/punk records north of the border. Emissions is a must on any trip to Toronto. They are modest size shop with a great selection of new and used, that means you can browse most of their stock but not get tunnel vision from digging through crates for 2 hours. Major points for everyone that works there being so dang nice and forgoing any judgement when you haven’t heard a band.

Great selection of hip hop. I asked them if could hunt down a album for me and they found it within a week. Very helpful staff!

Great little cafe and record shop! Awesome staff and one of the few record stores left with a listening station. I’ve had some great finds over the years, culminating in yesterday’s grip of one of my all time grails. Recommend!

Finally had a chance to stop by and was so impressed by how clean and tidy this little shop was. The selection of records are well curated, and they also have caffeine to help fuel your shopping experience! Ryan, one of the owners, was so lovely, greeted us and made us our coffees. They’ve got a great little nook by the front of the shop for you to sip your cuppa and watch the streetcars go by. Overall, great vibe and such a welcome addition to our neighborhood. Will definitely be back!

Awesome record shop. They have the oldskool house and electronic vinyl that's in short supply at the other shops. Stumbled into this awesome soccer shop right around the corner from Earl’s Court Park, where my kid had a game — and what a find! We picked up a fantastic pair of goalie gloves, and the service was next-level. Huge shoutout to Alex and Simao — they were incredibly helpful, super knowledgeable, and just all-around great people. This is the kind of small business that makes a community better. Great selection, fair pricing, and they carry everything you’d need — jerseys, cleats, shin guards, socks, full kits, soccer balls, and even cool souvenirs. We managed to grab everything we needed in one stop, and honestly, it was such a good experience. Highly recommend popping in whether you’re gearing up for the season or just want to browse. One of the best record stores in Toronto, no question. The vibe is super chill, and the staff are helpful without being pushy. They’ve got an awesome selection of both new and used vinyl, everything from classics to niche finds. We happened into Kops while visiting Toronto because we’d been exploring Graffiti Alley and wanted to check out a local shop before heading across town. We were blown away to find a band we know and enjoy (shame) was currently doing a signing in the store! The staff were SO helpful and accommodating, allowing us to purchase a shipped record online, get it signed by the band, and then give it back to them to mail home for us, saving us the trouble of sorting out international shipping during our brief stay. Now we’re going to a concert we didn’t even know was happening all because we happened to walk into Kops on a random Friday in January. We’ll be telling this story for years to come, thank you all!

Last time shopping here! As many others have noted, the value bin is overpriced and records are often in worse condition than labeled. When attempting to return a defective record, they are rude and dismissive. I preferred the old staff, but they’ve all left… seems to be a recurring issue at Kops.

Best place to buy retro/modern game consoles & games. Joe is a wonderful guy, very polite and friendly. Bought a Nintendo DSI XL for a fair price. The console is pretty big and it fits in my hand perfectly so I don’t get any hand cramps while playing. There are tiny bit of scratches on the top of the screen & a few on the back of the console. It doesn’t affect me during gaming sessions though since it’s not noticeable when I play. D-Pad and buttons work perfectly fine! I’m loving my DS 😍 If y’all live in Toronto or are planning to visit the city, make sure to stop by Last Gen Used!

When they're not overwhelmed by excited k-pop fans, they take the time to answer questions and help you get what you would really like to buy. If you want to get into k-pop, this is definitely a great store to go to (just make sure it's not going to be one of their ultra-busy days by checking for events on their instagram). I am brand new to Kpop (seriously I did not know what a bias was until 4 months ago). I was recommended this store in an Atiny Facebook group, with about 10+ comments saying this was the best option to order online for Canadian fans. They were not wrong! I ordered the Ateez IYF album & Ateez Season's Greetings box (not pictured how they first arrived as I was too excited but these were my photocard pulls). My order came SUPER fast (in TWO days!!!!! WOW!) I was shocked. In fact, I got my Season's Greeting box before some of my online Atiny friends in the USA got their PREORDERED one (I never preordered it but they did and yet I got mine before them!). Everything was packaged nicely. I can not speak on the physical store as I have only ordered online but I will definitely order from them again and my first ever KPop order experience was a great one.

I just finished Steven’s Sunday morning hot Vinyasa class and I feel amazing! I’ve been dealing with sciatic nerve pain and I’ve been doing yoga, getting massages, and seeing a chiropractor, which have all helped. However, today’s class really took it to another level. Steven’s guidance and the way he explains each movement made such a difference. I actually nailed tree pose on both sides (which hasn’t happened in a while because of my balance issues). Everything felt aligned and right. Steven is such a great instructor. He's supportive, clear, and so tuned in to how the body moves. I’ve always been curious about yoga teacher training, and if he ever taught one, I’d sign up! (just to learn and grow more, not necessarily to teach). Such a fantastic class and experience!

Mirette Maurice ★★★★★ 6 months ago

My 1st visit was very unpleasant as the front desk lady didn’t let me in because I arrived 1min before the class.thankfully the studio owner Bill reached out to me the following day and he explained the studio rules, he also offered to reset my 14 day trial start date and he scheduled my 1st class. My 2nd visit was very nice as I had a different person at the front desk who was very helpful and welcoming. Also my hot vinyasa class with Steven was absolutely amazing. I am glad I went back ♥️

Stepping into Lost 'n Found Yoga for my first Reformer Pilates class, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But from the moment I arrived, the welcoming atmosphere put me at ease. The space itself had a calm energy, and the instructors were approachable and encouraging, making it easy to settle in. The pace of the class was just right—challenging enough to engage my muscles, but slow enough to truly grasp the movements and technique. I appreciated how the instructor guided us through each exercise with clarity, ensuring that even as a beginner, I felt confident on the Reformer. By the end of the session, I left feeling stronger, stretched, and excited for the next class in my five-session journey. Would you like me to add anything about specific movements or highlights from the class?

Everyone enjoyed the band, and gave a very positive feedback. We had the 5 piece band and they were very engaging to everyone especially the singer she is amazing!!. They were so good and we already have them book for our next year party and hopefully many more year to come.

Love Supreme played at our wedding on June 11, 2016. Greg and all of the band members were wonderful to work with and extremely accommodating! We had the 3 piece jazz playing during our cocktail hour and our guests raved about how nice the sound was and how much it added to the ambiance of the afternoon. Love Supreme also supplied most of the sound equipment and were great getting everything set up. Now to the best part! To say that Love Supreme are amazing is an understatement!! Our guests were loving every minute of the evening and every song choice was perfect throughout the night. The lead singer came out in to the crowd and danced with us while singing. She was a powerhouse!! Guests were out on the dance floor all night none stop and BEGGED for multiple encores (until the venue finally turned the lights on, hehe)! All that being said, I would highly recommend Love Supreme for any event! Thank you again Greg and Love Supreme for making our day even more special and a hell of a lot of fun!!! Laurel and Ryan :)

We booked Love Supreme for our wedding this past weekend and they were fantastic. We got the 7 piece band, plus DJ, plus cocktail hour jazz music. Greg was super easy to work with throughout. Everyone in the band did a fantastic job during the night. The singers were both great, even joining us on the dance floor during their set. Our guests had many great things to say about them! Would book them again in an instant.

Alvin Lero ★★★★★ 9 years ago

Love Supreme is a top notch band! Greg (who is also the drummer) from the get go was very prompt to reply to emails and accommodate any requests I had. Since we were at a smaller venue, I opted for the 4 piece ensemble and it was perfect - they showed up early and were quick to set up, had their own lighting and they had our crowd up and dancing in no time (and we're not typically a dancing crowd). Jenny and Matt are phenomenal vocalists and are great at interacting with the crowd which a lot of bands don't do. All I heard from our guests that night was how great Love Supreme was. Thanks guys for an awesome evening and for making my job easy! See you next year!

My wife and I hired Love Supreme for our wedding on October 27, 2018 in Burlington and we couldn't have been more pleased. The band (string quartet) was hired to play during our cocktail hour as well as the entire band during our wedding reception. Love Supreme incorporated a DJ to play music during their breaks. Our family and friends as well as Stephanie and I were thoroughly impressed with the range of music that was performed, which pleased our congregation comprised of all ages. We thought the band was the icing on the cake for our wedding, as it made the affair even more classy. We especially loved the fact that there were male and female vocals and they were both excellent. I highly recommend Love Supreme for any type of function. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Love Supreme for making our special day even more memorable.

The store has a large facade, making it easy to find, and it's also close to several restaurants, shops, bakeries, and more. As soon as you enter, you'll find the children's and teens' sections, and as you walk along, you'll find older books, short stories, poetry, stories, and much more. The selection of audiotapes is huge, and the vinyl records are simply incredible. The store's service is excellent, and they accept cash and cards. Lots of box sets. Prices are about what you expect to pay now such as 40 or 50 for the current (brand new) repressing of a key Blue Notes jazz album. He sells used too at a good bargain. Play De Record

We found Record Collective through our wedding coordinator and they were such a perfect fit for us. We didn’t want the typical wedding vibe — we wanted something different to wow our guests and keep the energy high — and Alain totally nailed it! The vinyl setup was such a cool touch and everyone loved it. People are still talking about how fun the music was! Highly recommend if you want your wedding to feel unique and unforgettable.

Lindsay Benjamin ★★★★★ 8 months ago

Record Collective came well recommended to me for our wedding reception by a friend. Mike created the perfect atmosphere for our wedding! He nailed the vibe. We heard many compliments from friends and fam about the music. They loved that he played vinyl. Mike was a pleasure to work with leading up to the event and it was great to meet him among the wedding hustle. I'll be sure to recommend Record Collective to friends!

Izzy Nolan ★★★★★ 10 months ago

Mike was a fantastic DJ for our wedding on July 12th. He was there to set up early, brought a huge collection of records, and kept our guests dancing all night! He allowed us to bring in our own records and played all of our requests. It was a perfect mix of classics with some new hits. He made our wedding so special and guests cannot stop talking about how unique he is. Thank you so much, Mike!

Cassy O ★★★★★ 11 months ago

We used Record Collective as our wedding DJ this past weekend, Alain was so much fun & was so good at being a part of the party & reading the atmosphere. We had the best time & all our guests were so excited about all his music choices and record selection. Would use them again in a heartbeat!

Shayne Dagenais ★★★★★ 9 months ago

We had the absolute pleasure of having Alain (aka DJ BookShelf) from Record Collective DJ our wedding last Saturday, and he was phenomenal!! Our guests haven’t stopped raving about how incredible the music was and we couldn't agree more. Record Collective is the furthest thing from your typical cheesy wedding DJ. There were no cliché wedding tracks. Instead, Alain spun an eclectic, perfectly curated mix of genres that had the dance floor bumping all night long. He brought amazing vibes, chill energy, and a seriously impressive vinyl collection all the way from Toronto to Pembroke just for our big day. Alain was an absolute joy to have at the wedding, laid-back, professional, and ridiculously good at what he does. We'd recommend him in a heartbeat. We’d 100% back DJ Bookshelf in a knife fight, He’s that good! If you’re looking for someone to bring authentic energy, great taste, and serious party vibes to your wedding (or any event), you will not be disappointed with Record Collective!!

Came to the new space to pick up a vinyl I ordered via a phonecall—the owner was kind enough to hold it for me but I know you can place orders on the site to pick up in store. Also love that the vinyls are arranged in alphabetical order instead of by music genre…much easier to find what one needs. He’s also able to place special orders when needed.

Emily Smith ★★★★★ 6 months ago

As a vinyl newbie, I had an amazing experience at Resolute Records and would 100% recommend it to anyone interested in starting (or growing) their collection! I actually stumbled upon this place on my way to a different record store and am so glad I did! The store is small but mighty, and I managed to snag 8 new records (the first ones in my collection!) during my first visit. The owner, Jovahn, is one of the kindest and most knowledgeable people you will meet and his passion for vinyl clearly shines through. Not only did he help me find the vinyls I needed, he also took the time to answer my (many) questions and offer advice about vinyl care. Within a short time, Resolute Records has quickly become my go-to vinyl spot and I will definitely be back soon :)

Bought 4 records from this shop online. There is free shipping it arrived well packaged and on time. Certain albums they sell at this shop are cheaper priced than other Toronto record stores. Mostly new albums they list online. Overall I would recommend shopping here online.

An incredible record shop and the owner is super chill and cool, and he knows his tunes! Picks out some incredible records to stock in his shop. I recently picked up this gem (Miles Davis and John Coltrane live from a 1960 show), and the latest QOTSA, and will definitely be back soon for more!

I recently got back into vinyl, after selling my collection, when I had amassed several hundred CDs, many years ago. They have a great selection and their prices are very reasonable. The staff are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I'll be purchasing all my vinyl at this gem of a record store. A+

Cool shop with good selection. Expensive though and not many original secondhand jazz records but rather copies

Jason Hughes ★★★★★ 7 months ago

I spent just under a week between Toronto and Vancouver. Within that time I did a lot of record searching and shopping. Rotate This had one of the best selections of metal out of all the shops I visited. They also had the most amount of OG grails. I picked up 4 of those grails and they were all really well priced. Slayer - Show No Mercy Slayer - Reign In Blood Metallica - Kill Em All Megadeth - So Far So Good So What Never would I have thought I'd find any shop where I'd walk out with 4 grails on my list. Far less for really good costs. I highly recommend visiting Rotate This. If I ever head back to Toronto, they're the first shop I'm heading to.

Smashing IT! Oh, how I miss the days of when like-minded people would dash off to the record store to listen to some awesome music. It was a delightful adventure back then. Our musical ears and souls desired these visits to the record store on a regular basis. Rotate This brings me back to those days without having to gear up and dust off the ole Time Machine. Love the amazing music selection of records and vibes of this place. Vinyl is where music is at! And it's making a welcoming comeback, that's for sure!

Toronto Pho on Jane has been my go-to pho spot for the past 6 years, and it never disappoints. Their broth is always rich, flavourful, and incredibly comforting. I usually order the rare beef pho, and sometimes add tripe — it always tastes amazing and is cooked to absolute perfection every time. I also love that Toronto Pho is open past midnight, making it the perfect late-night meal. Whether I order online or dine in, the quality is consistently excellent, and the service is always quick. A side dish I highly recommend is the beef fresh rolls. They’re light, fresh, and not heavy on the stomach, with the perfect balance of beef, vegetables, and noodles. Paired with the creamy, flavourful peanut sauce, they make the ideal snack or lunch. I love ordering from and visiting Toronto Pho on Jane, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for delicious, reliable pho.

Just ordered from Uber Toronto Pho and WOW 🤩 the broth was insanely tasty! They had a promo for buy one get one free, so we grabbed the pho with rare beef and tripe — I even added my own beef balls at home and it hit perfectly. Their fruit tea was also super delicious 🤤 Definitely ordering from them again, and I’m 100% going to visit the restaurant to dine in next time! Highly recommend! 🍜✨

Probably the coolest record store I've ever been to. Lots to see, you can easily spend hours here! Decent prices for a large store in a large city, many hidden gems if you take the time to look. Upstairs has used vinyls, books, and new vinyl releases. Lower level has tons of CDs, vinyls, collector/limited edition vinyls and merch, band merch including socks and t-shirts, turntables and speakers.

One of my top records store I recommend in this city. Solely for the vibes! -- Detailed review below -- 🗃️ Their collection is massive! A whole basement filled with genre and artists record. The duo have popular and recent releases displayed on the main floor which changes often. 🧸 They have music FUNKO POP figures!! I've also seen some TV show characters Funko like Schitts creek. 🖼️ They have posters, books, magazines, gifts, charms, pins, games, clothing apparel, home accessories themed, candies, jukebox!? So much stuff I can't even remember now.. 💽 They also host listening parties to some album releases (I'm a little sad that at the time of writing this review, my favorite artists listening party got cancelled sadly - TøP Breach Album) 🥰 I always introduce this place to anyone who loves music and owns a record player and they all love it! 📱good social presence. I follow them on Instagram and love seeing the updates there. Yes they take a few days to get back to a DM but I'd say they're still better than most! 🐻‍❄️Also, in one of my images from last year winter, there was this snow yeti guy/figure ... Don't recall what or why exactly but it was an adorable thing haha. -- Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐✅ Highly recommend, great staff, good service.

Went out of my way to visit this place, as I was particularly interested in their film collection. Upon arriving, I was surprised to find that all of their films are behind the counter, and are not available for browsing. You need to ask the staff to have a look at anything you’re interested in. This is the first time I have come across a setup like this. I understand that it is likely to address theft, but as a regular consumer just looking to spend his time looking through the titles, and potentially buy a few things, it is less than ideal, a little awkward and weird, and I probably won’t be visiting again because of it.

Poor customer service. They said that they'd call me when the album arrived in store. A month later, I checked in with them. They had gotten my phone number wrong; hence, I never got the call. Two months after correcting my phone number, I checked in with them again. This time, they said the order got cancelled. Reportedly, they won't be getting the record in again and it cannot be ordered. Very strange. Guess I will have to give my money to another record store!

I LOVE this store. They have selection that you will not find at any other Sunrise, and even the hidden gem record stores! Also check out their cool movie and games/plushy selection! (and their posters, since my walls are too full of them now ahah). HUGE shout out to Robert. He remembers what music and bands customers love, he gives great suggestions, and he is such a friendly guy. Incredibly knowledgeable about music and pop culture. I can't say enough good things about this place and Julian in particular. I've now brought in both a receiver and a turntable for repair, and the experience has been outstanding each time. Julian really knows his stuff and takes the time to explain what's wrong and what needs to be done—no unnecessary upselling, just honest, expert service. In a world where it often feels cheaper to replace than repair, it's refreshing to find someone who can breathe new life into quality equipment without breaking the bank. This is the kind of local shop that deserves all the support it can get. Highly recommended!

Great turntable service! This shop has all the right feels. My latest upgrade is for my reference system, a new OM Bronze installed and tested. This most satisfied customer, will be returning. Store floor plan is large with room - great selection of vinyl. Used amps and tt are on display. Shop local, support independent record stores.

Nice shop, great service, unreliable hours. :( The shop is closed three days a week, and open Thurs - Sun. There have been several times where I've tried to visit when they were meant to be open, only to find 'closed early' signs on the door. Limited daytime hours of 12PM-6PM makes it very difficult to visit if you work a 9-to-5 and can't make it on the weekend. I visited on a Sunday looking for MOFI Inner Sleeves. I wanted very badly to shop local, to avoid Amazon whenever possible. I was told they were out of stock, that they'd arrive tomorrow, but that the shop itself wouldn't re-open until Thursday. On Thursday, I left work early to make it before the 6PM close. Arrived just after 5PM to find a sign reading "closed early, c u tmrw! :)" Trying to support these folks can be challenging. Nice crew, but limited hours that aren't even guaranteed stings big time.

Messed up an old player I got from my parents recently and was looking to get it fixed up. Lots of places here have absolutely insane pricing, so when I came here and got a reasonable price for what I needed done I was very quick to hand it over to them. Owner was very understanding and reassured me it was a quick fix to get it working good as new. 10/10 for service, pricing and just general charm from the workers :]

Love this place! I have lots of really nice memories looking around here with my Dad. Before it was a record store it was a cafe called Rocket Fuel which my Dad worked at, and Keith keeps that vintage cafe vibe going strong! The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable and friendly. I’ve spent hours there browsing the shelves and crates of records. I always walk out with a gem, and there are usually new arrivals to have a look at. Gotta be one of my favourite places to go on a rainy Saturday. A wonderful place to have in the neighborhood, and a classic spot to listen to tunes, chat with friends and add to your vinyl collection. 😊
