A lovely place for hobbyists to gather together and buy various kinds of things that actually store music with solid property instead of streaming. The store has been here for a long while, and may well become the type of vintage store in the web 3.0 digital era.

Such a lovely record shop! Would have been greater if it felt less commercial and more intimate - have a few passionate staff going around talking to the few folks sieving through the records would have been a nice touch. Records hunting is a pretty niche, arguably expensive hobby in 2025 after all! Anyway, we came all the way from Singapore to find a Mayday LP and we left pretty happy with it from the store (albeit being really REALLY expensive, I guess the LP is pretty rare now…). Anyway, congratulations on crafting a beautiful store!

LILY Deng ★★★★ a month ago

There are many records here, mostly foreign-language vinyl, while the number of Chinese records is relatively small.

Chester Tan ★★★★★ 2 years ago

Very spacious and well-designed record shop selling exclusively vinyl records, including 12-inch singles, classical, musical, jazz, pop, Mandopop, very small Jpop. Also sells turntables and headphones. 8 minute walk from mrt, take the left path towards the Taipei Music Center. New vinyl are competitively priced but didn't carry as much titles.

Came in and stayed for 3 hours digging in crates and jamming! DaTao’s customer service was awesome! They’re knowledgeable of music and of course they cleaned all of the records I purchased! I had too much fun-as other people were coming in and dancing also. Great atmosphere!

Honestly I cant speak well enough about this store. From the moment I got there the vibes were super nice. Surprisingly I was the only person in the entire store, but that wasn't a bad thing at all. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive to any needs. Big shout out to Joy for helping me find Taiwanese punk rock music. They went above and beyond and even helped me find something I lost on the train the other day! Prices were what to be expected from a record store but they did have a value budget section that was very nice. In this section you could find vinyls for 99 down to 49 taiwanese dollars. When it comes to their Asian pop however most of there vinyls were in the 1000+ range. Overall one of the best record stores I've been to when traveling around. I cant thank these guys enough for being so friendly and helpful. Highly highly recommend coming here if your are looking for vinyls in taiwan. Also big thank you to Joy as she helped me out with everything!!

Lots of new vinyl focusing on electronic music (huge selection) but also a good amount of Taiwanese indie/alternative. The owner is friendly and speaks English. You have to take an elevator to get to the store, and I did not see signage on the first floor.

A gem of a vinyl shop in central Taipei with a spot-on selection, from rare old school tunes to modern and experimental club sounds, featuring both local and international artists. Prices are very reasonable. Most of the crates are pre-owned with some fresh arrivals too. The staff is super welcoming and also part of Taipei's music scene. I was visiting Ximending with my brother. Both of us live in the US and were visiting parents in Taiwan. This store was super busy at the time, so I just browsed their LP collection. Came back a week later and lucky me, the store just opened with no customer in it. The owner/operator and I chatted about the LPs. He's a big time music nerd, and very resourceful. I bought several limited edition Western music LPs. Their LP turnover is pretty quick. If you see something you like, it likely won't be there later.

SK ★★★★★ 2 years ago

Very friendly boss and able to assist you. I'm able to find some of the discon limited edition of Namewee CD that is 4 to 5 time more expensive if you get it in HK or SG .Not easy to find CD stores all over the world these days. This is one of those places that carry most if the popular CD and DVD from local and international selections. They also feature a great section of vinyl records, and audio goods.

Coffee shop / Vinyl records shop. They serve food, pizza as well as alcoholic drinks. Unique atmosphere. Originally when I went in, I thought the Vinyl records along the walls were for decoration only, but I then saw a customer looking through the records and purchasing two records. High ceiling. I was there on a Sunday at around 2pm and there was no customers then. But when I left around 2.50pm, every table had been taken. Popular. Hot coffee for TWD150. Order at the bar counter and pay. The staff will bring food and drink to table when ready

Nice little shop with many hidden gems, records that I have not seen in SE Asia before..... however there is very little organization thus "hidden" is the key word here. You are not able to search for anything specific because - aside from some broad categories like hiphop and jazz and "everything else" - its just a hodgepodge mess of artists. It's small enough shop that they could at least alphabetize the artists. Anyway, I gave it a go for 30 mins but just became frustrated as I would stumble on an artist of interest but not the right album (for me anyway). Metal is mixed with pop with alternative mixed with whatever... sadly I walked out empty handed.

Hamilton Yuen ★★ a year ago

A vinyl joint on the fifth floor of a shopping centre selling mostly electronic products. From a crate digging perspective, it is quite enjoyable as it is spacious. I was after jazz records so my comments will be confined to this genre only. It is obvious that they bought in bulk from Japan, evidenced by a large amount of Japanese pressing found in the crates. Bulk of the selection is bop / bebop / post bop era. Fairly speaking, there are some gems. But I agree with one of the previous posts, They are significantly marked up. Say you are a tourist from some western countries coming all the way to Asia, you wouldn't overpay considering Japan is probably one of your many stops in your trip. So pricing is a problem to tourists, so they will only cater for local customers who don't travel to Japan. There is a small selection of modern jazz from the UK, it is strange given for someone who is interested in this new jazz movement, the variety needs to be much wider. But overall it is enjoyable.

Dan Clinton ★★★★★ a year ago

This place is on the 5th floor, they have a good selection. The guys running it are super helpful. I'll be coming back.

Dan S. ★★ a year ago

They have a great selection, but holy crap their stuff is expensive! 90% of the records here are at least 30% more than they would be in any other store. It seems like the average price of a record here is 1499NT, while the average price for a new vinyl in most other stores around Taipei is 1080NT. As for their selection - their new records are organized by genre in a very intuitive way. They have a lot of great albums that I don't usually find in other stores around Taipei, like Talkie Walkie by Air, Frances the Mute by Mars Volta, etc. There are also some amazing used first-pressings you can find from the 90's, like a mint-condition original Third Eye Blind from 1997, or even an original Blink 182 Dude Ranch. That said... the asking prices are astronomical (with Dude Ranch in particular being 9000NT!). You CAN find something priced normally (I bought Hurry Up, We're Dreaming by M83 today for 880, which is actually lower than normal), but you have to dig around and get lucky. A few things will be priced 880 or 990, but that's rare. Service is nice (although the guy who's usually there can be pushy), and the store is super clean... but seriously, the prices are laughable.

Jeffrey Gamble ★★★★★ 8 years ago

First of all, the picture can be misleading. The store is on the fifth floor of the shopping center at that location. Amazing selection of second hand records, with an awesome classical collection. The staff are fluent in English and are incredibly knowledge about artists, composers, labels, etc. I mean, extremely knowledge. Reasonable prices, and most are labelled on terms of condition. The organisation of records is a bit tough, but it is logical. The staff are more than happy to guide you and make suggestions. The best shopping experience I've had in years! Plus, they will ship for a nominal fee. Highly recommended!!

Very old school cd shop style. If you are thirsty, they sell drinks too. The collection is not as organised as the other LP store. Japanese, K-pop, J-pop, English, and Cantonese selections are available.

I’m actually pleasantly surprised with how lovely and light the drink was! I’m staying in Ximen so this is very close to me. I came on a Sunday and beat the crowd by a few minutes. After I got my drink, 20 people showed up. I’m really grateful they had an English menu. I ordered an oolong milk tea with boba, half sweet, regular ice. They’re generous with the boba and the drink as well. I plan on coming back to try other flavors. It was 35 NT which is about 1 USD. I will be a regular.

A very bad experience~ If you can't even get two yuan for a video, why bother making an appointment? > A two-hour round trip from Taoyuan to Yonghe, and they only offered me NT$300! Process Description: 1. I contacted the seller through the official channels; they had a bunch of vinyl records to sell, all released in Taiwan, including Western and Taiwanese artists like Teresa Teng and Yeh Chia-hsiu. 2. The seller replied, asking me to leave photos and videos on Line, including a picture of the cover, which I provided. 3. I asked about the approximate market price. The seller replied that they needed to see the records in person to know, and also to confirm whether they were playable, original, and in good condition. 4. I went to Taipei as agreed to meet the buyer, but he didn't confirm whether they were playable or original. He just looked through them on the street and said he could only offer NT$300 for everything. My Opinion: 1. If I didn't know the market price, he could have explained it to me. I felt like I was tricked into going to Taipei to show him. He could have explained this during the initial communication. For example, the purchase price is very low. How much would it be if things went well? These two hundred records, if all can be played, would be about one and a half dollars each. 2. Regardless of whether the customer has come from afar, having a rough estimate of the price helps them decide if it's worth the trip, saving them time and money. 3. This is a matter of service process and customer experience. If you can't even collect 2 dollars per record, how much would you have to sell them in the store? Business is business, isn't it? If you don't even need to confirm whether each record can be played, and the price is only about two New Taiwan Dollars per record on average, then what's the point of quoting prices and taking product photos on Line? 4. Logically speaking, would anyone sell a whole box of vinyl records for only 300 dollars? It would be better to just pick it up yourself and use the freebies. Update: Seeing the boss's reply only confirms my suspicions. 1) I also took photos and videos, and showed them to you in person. I can clearly state that these are pirated and I don't have the money to sell them. 2) I did bring a large box of nearly 200 pieces. I didn't mean to cheat anyone. 3) I explained to the boss in our conversation that this was a communication problem. I mistakenly thought I needed to confirm each piece was playable before confirming the price, but he quoted 300 yuan for the whole box just by picking them up and looking at them. 4) According to your logic, if a customer is not satisfied with the price, it means they don't understand the market and are trying to cheat with fakes. Then I wish you could do more business. Isn't this all about communication? Isn't that basic business practice? How come you're saying I cheated you? It makes me feel even worse.

This is CD heaven genuinely... You can get to the 2nd floor directly from the street, and there's a large selection of both Jpop and Kpop albums! I would have an idea of what you're going to get beforehand- because there's sooo much to choose from, and its relatively cheap- around $15 per album!

One of the best selection of CDs in Taiwan - especially also international classic and jazz and pop-rock. Not the very best for metal/core/punk/indie, but still ok. Prices are usually not great (it's Taiwan...), but some reduced offers (some even between 100-200) are really a bargain. Nice staff as well, of course.

tons of cds to look through, ranging from classical, pop and kpop as well. There is a section for blu ray dvds. There are two levels for Chia Chia, the upper level has the vinyls and cater to more english/international section. Not much vinyls but great to take a look while in the area. Found many gems there and there are really lots of classical music to explore.

I call this one the "Audiophile Haven". From JPOP, KPOP, MANDOPOP and even international music artists like Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson and the like, they've got it all for us music lovers. The store was actually located on the 2nd floor and 3rd floor of the building beside TOTTO RAMEN in Ximending Area along Zhonghua road. Going up there was actually just a small stair opening leading to the 2nd floor and on the left side there's the main store then go another level to reach the 3rd floor store annex. TIP: there's also an elevator available in case you don't feel like taking the stairs. (I uploaded a pic of the elevator door in case you need some visual guide) The Second floor or the MAIN STORE offers a wide variety of music genres, here you can find Anime OST's, JPOP, KPOP, Mandopop and also some DVD movies from Western to Asian genres. The staff there was also accommodating when you asked them for help finding a particular album. They have a system wherein they can find if the album was available or out-of-stock, so always approach them whenever you needed help and that's also to save you up some time instead of searching the whole roster of albums because I tell you, it's A LOT! Meanwhile, on the Third Level which I call the "ANNEX", you can find a lot of international record albums from CD's to Vinyl's which I find interesting and cool! it was such a sight that's all I want to say hehe!. I also wanted to mention the headphones available per display rack to test listen some tracks that you're interested in. To wrap things up, this record store was very much targeted for audiophiles (like me) and YOU WILL NOT REGRET visiting this store I tell you that honestly! I do suggest try to bring some friends with you or instead have a personal moment to immerse yourself in the world of music paired with the solemn ambiance while browsing (ugh! IMAGINE THAT! that's what happened to me haha!). But for real though, it really consumes a lot of time! inside it's like a TIME MACHINE (LOL) but definitely for a good reason to relax your mind and have fun at the same time! One of my personal favorites during my trip to Taiwan!

The place is quite clean and tidy. The media are organized and shelved in a way that it's easy to locate what you are looking for. The staff are very kind and helpful, especially the girl assistant who helped to clean the records that I picked, nicely packed the records in a cardboard box, as I had to bring them back to Canada as a check-in luggage on my flight. She also called in Taxi for me and offered me cool drink as it was so hot in Taipei. I found this place because I saw a picture with a 吳鶯音's record in it in their store's description. I purchased dozens of vintage records here and am so happy that I visited the store on my last day of stay in Taipei. I highly recommend this store to any vinyl record enthusiasts. One of the best record stores I've been to, and that's speaking as someone who has been to Amoeba. HUGE selection of records. Mostly classical, which is not exactly my bag, but the selection of jazz and rock records is astonishing as well. Tons and tons of rare titles scattered throughout, and although records are not even close to being perfectly organized, crate digging / shelf digging will yield awesome finds pretty much no matter where you decide to dig. Couldn't recommend this place more. Oh, and remarkably well-priced as well.

A second hand record store that is worth going for. They know what they are working on and their recommendations are right on the point.

Amazing shop! Made a point to visit this gem while in Taipei on vacation from the U.S. My only regret is that I wish I’d brought more cash and been able to spend more time! I’m confident they have much more I would have loved to buy among their intimidating inventory. As it stands, I picked up several albums of the great Taiwanese rock duo Power Station (動力火車), one from legendary Mainland rock singer Wang Feng (汪峰), and one from the eclectic Taiwanese rock band Guntzepaula (槍擊潑辣). I feel like the pricing was fair, and the store’s depth of variety is excellent. CD hunter paradise! I recommend arriving with an idea of what you’re looking for. I walked in, asked for assistance, and the kind clerk (who spoke English) brought me right to Power Station’s section. He then handed me Wang Feng and Guntzepaula albums as I was browsing. I hope this store remains in business for many years to come. Next time I’m in Taipei, I’ll definitely be returning!

You’re on the stairs trying to go to 3/f, and you realise the stairs end at 2/f and the salon is the only way in? No worries it’s the right way😂 just go into the salon there is another stairs guiding you to 3rd floor.愛樂唱片is perfect for you if you’re classics lover.

An absolute gem, which is literally hidden in plain sight (look for the narrow straircase between the alleyway and a convenience store). So many rare items, ranging from cassettes, to CDs, vinyls, and even laser disks. Prices are very very generous, and the atmosphere just feels very inviting and friendly, with staff that are happy to help. I don't think I will ever forget this place :)

I was able to find a rare CD made in Japan of Utada Hikaru, when I was on my trip to her concert in Taipei. The staircase to the shop was a bit hidden so remember to look for a staircase to a barber shop. Go to tha barber shop and straight up stairs, you will arrive at the shop. The owner was very welcoming, even provide me with stools so that I can dig up the CD 🤣

Julian Lee ★★★★★ 3 years ago

The first challenge is getting in through the salon, the second is navigating the interior, but any cd collector who wants a rewarding adventure absolutely must take the plunge here and chat up the owner. You'll pay handsomely for your effort, but the second-hand treasures in Taiwanese indie as well as Western & Japanese music simply are not available anywhere else. Sticky Rice was a sticking point between us, but I left with four discs for $1200 that I'd never heard of before and am savoring every minute of them. The owner swears there is an organizational scheme, but a lot of the place seems like a CD version of Zweig's documentary "Vinyl." All that is said lovingly. Please patronize the truly unique places like this to keep them going.

I've been to quite a few audiophile shops in North America, Europe and Asia and I must say that Yuefu is the best overall experience I have had to date. -- Quality Selection of Components -- Responsive and Knowledgeable Sales -- Customer First Attitude The total experience was awesome....professional and attentive help selecting, purchasing, and installing the right equipment. The shop has a superb environment - great audio and video demos, first class service, and of course the doggies are a nice addition -- make sure you say hi to Olaf :-). Highly Recommended!

Little star "Olaf" always stays behind the glass door, greeting every passerby with his most heartwarming smile. Crowds often gather in front of the store, everyone unable to resist taking out their phones to capture this adorable moment. One smile can melt the entire street.

This store has a good portion of vinyl considering its size. Aside from rock, jazz, and Japanese, it also has a decent stock of Mandarin records. The owner is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Don't have to ask for recommendations, he will give you more than enough to bust your budget.

Wonderful specialty CD store that focuses on Classical Music only. This is so rare to find such a store anywhere nowadays. There are many selections of boxed sets and even a small selection of vinyls. Many of the discs are on sale. Must visit for all Classical Music fans.

My brother was watching an interesting looking movie and when I asked him, he revealed to me that he was watching Rio 2: The Lone Blue Macaw. This movie is well worth the hour and forty-one minutes it takes to watch. Rio 2's unique plot, which distinguishes it from other movies' narratives, is what makes the movie different from other films. Rio 2's story, which centers on a family of the only blue macaws on the entire planet or so they thought. Rio 2's soundtrack is incredibly imaginative since it is vibrant and upbeat. The character development was what really made the movie entertaining, even though the soundtrack greatly contributed to the ambiance. Whether it's tomorrow or a year later, if you need a great movie to cheer you up, you should definitely watch Rio 2! I promise you that you will get cheered up after watching the movie.
